Dean Leads in Iowa

AP reports that Vermont Gov. Howard Dean now leads in the latest Iowa poll (over Gephardt, 23% - 21%). USA Today's headline (before you actually click on the story) is "Leaders Emerge for 2004." It will be interesting to see how the campaign (and we at Dean Nation) respond to this emerging frontrunner status - assuming that the stars continue to align and that there is a spike in polling from the massive news coverage coming out next week. There's still a long way to go before Dean really cements his position as the frontrunner, but we should all begin thinking about what it means and how the message and campaign can be brought to larger audience.

What do you think? How does the message change? Does the message change? Dean's greatest strength is his candor, and his 'unscripted' nature - nobody wants to change that. But what things could be improved? Or, are there other issues to be taking up (clearly the economic message is beginning to come into focus). What else?!
