Clark shows his cards

On CNN, Wesley Clark made these hedging-his-bets-comments:

General Clark, who, in fairness, we should say, we consider a friend, joins us tonight from Little Rock.

General, what say we make news here? Going to run?

GEN. WESLEY CLARK (RET.), FORMER NATO SUPREME COMMANDER: I haven't made a decision. It's not time to make a decision yet.

BROWN: There are those, general, who, in fact, would say that it is too late to make a decision. Assuming, and I do, that you really haven't made up your mind yet, are you concerned that if you decide you want to do this, it is too late to put organization and money together?

CLARK: No.

BROWN: Not at all?

CLARK: No, I'm not concerned about that.

BROWN: Why?

CLARK: There's a tremendous groundswell of support out there in America for candidates who can offer the promise of leadership. And I see it every day in the mail and phone calls that are coming to me. And it's reflected, really, in the groundswell of support for Howard Dean, it's reflected in the concern of mainstream Democratic Party politicians for John Kerry. It's even reflected in California.

While there are some who think that the United States is obsessed with sex and is stridently homophobic, nothing can compare with Muslim attitudes towards homosexuals. A fair solution to Jerusalem

I remember reading one of the books by Tom Clancy in which Jack Ryan was credited with coming up with a solution for Middle East peace which was pointedly never actually detailed in the novel. It was just a way to give his character some foreign policy cred, but ended up like that mysterious suitcase in Pulp Fiction. I couldn't help but be reminded of that, though, when I read former New York mayor Ed Koch's innovative solution to resolving the status of Jerusalem . Instead of putting the hot-button issue of Jerusalem last on the agenda, the issue should be addressed first. If the Jerusalem question is solved, everything else should fall into place more easily. I believe there is a way to keep Jerusalem unified. I am talking not only of the old walled city, which is a very small part of the city of Jerusalem, but the whole city, east, west, north and south.
